High-quality genuine leather and thick PU leather are unlikely to crack under normal gentle use; however, leather cracking is mostly caused by long-term exposure to sunlight, moisture and mold, prolonged dryness and lack of water, heavy object compression and folding, or deterioration due to poor thin leather materials. Frequent bending and long-term storage in a corner without maintenance will also accelerate the hardening of the surface layer, cracking and peeling of the leather.
Daily maintenance methods
Avoid moisture and sun exposure. Avoid direct sunlight, rain soaking and storage in damp environments. Moisture is prone to cause mold and hardening; long-term exposure to sunlight will cause the leather to lose its oil, become dry and hard, and develop cracks.
Daily cleaning: Use a dry soft cloth to wipe daily dust; use a slightly damp soft cloth dipped in neutral cleaner to gently wipe minor stains. Do not use alcohol, disinfectants, or strong alkaline cleaners, as they will corrode the surface coating.
Regular maintenance: Use special leather care oil and nourishing lotion every 2-3 months to evenly apply, replenish the leather oil, maintain softness and elasticity, and prevent drying, cracking and aging discoloration.
Reasonable use and storage: Do not over-expand the bag, do not apply heavy pressure or folding for a long time; when not in use for a long time, insert dust-proof paper or padding to support the shape, put on a dust-proof bag, and place it in a dry and ventilated place to avoid compression deformation.
Avoid damage from hard objects. Stay away from sharp objects and rough walls to prevent scratching and peeling of the coating, reducing leather damage and aging.
